Education

The body is one of the primary ways in which we make sense of our world. The body is profoundly involved in knowledge production and impacts who we are and how we connect with the world around us.

I build interdisciplinary courses and curricula that harness the potential of the body in knowledge production, for both school and higher educational settings.

Current and Recent Work

Every education policy document in India stresses the need for arts education, yet the infrastructure to support the training of artists into educators is missing. By now, we are all aware (and research shows) that simply being good at something does not make you a good teacher! In an effort to address this, I mentor people who want to make connections between art and education. This article showcases the work of two such women! Shreshtha Saluja writes about a performing arts program that I run in a school, which is taught by Debosmita Dam.
